Dentons has launched a new tax practice in the Netherlands through the hire of a four-partner team from Baker McKenzie.
These hires are the first for the firm since launching in the Netherlands in May 2017 through a combination with local firm Boekel.
Dentons Boekel, which is the firm’s official name in the country, has hired Bakers partners Jurjen Bevers, Paul Halprin, Heico Reinoud and Marnix Veldhuijzen to bolster its Amsterdam office.

The acquisition gave Dentons its 26th office in Europe and its first base in the Netherlands. It has also opened two offices in Italy and one in Luxembourg in the last 18 months, and opened its third German office in Munich last year.
Dentons does not provide figures for its European operations, however the firm posted a 9 per cent drop in PEP from £530,000 to £481,000 in its latest UKMEA financial results, while revenue grew by 1 per cent to £165m.
The firm’s results shows a fourth year of consecutive growth for the firm, but is considerably lower than the growth recorded in 2015/16, when the firm grew its UKMEA revenue by 7.7 per cent.
