Addleshaw Goddard managing partner John Joyce has been re-elected for a second four-year term following an uncontested election.
Joyce first became managing partner in May 2014. Since then he has set about rapidly expanding Addleshaws in a bid to boost turnover to £225m.
He also wanted to take top of equity over £1m, which he successfully did at the end of 2015/16, three years ahead of target.
Most recently The Lawyer revealed Joyce is in talks to launch an exclusive alliance with German firm Luther.
Last year he also successfully negotiated a deal to takeover Gateley’s Scottish office. The HBJ merger will go live in May, adding around £22m to Addleshaws’ top line.
He has also launched merger talks with US firm Hunton & Williams, which are continuing apace this year.
Commenting on his re-appointment, Joyce said: “I’m very pleased to continue contributing as managing partner for another term. Three years ago we set out a plan to improve business focus, performance and returns. Despite the challenging economic and market conditions, we have made substantial progress in developing and improving our business across numerous fronts, most recently through the combination with HBJ.”
