The U.S. Department of Justice has agreed to produce material redacted from the Mueller report along with underlying evidence to the House Intelligence Committee.

The committee chairman, Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff of California, announced the deal Wednesday, the Washington Post reports. Schiff said the DOJ will release 12 categories of counterintelligence and foreign intelligence materials from the investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller.

The DOJ will begin turning over the materials this week. In exchange, Schiff agreed that a subpoena against U.S. Attorney General William Barr would not be enforced.

Schiff added that the subpoena will be enforced if the DOJ does not comply with the full request for documents.

The Washington Post said Schiff’s decision to delay enforcement of the subpoena “represents a rare moment of detente between House Democrats and Barr.”
