Pricewaterhouse Coopers is launching a new service that will provide temporary lawyers for large in-house law departments.

The service is called Flexible Legal Resources, report the Am Law Daily (sub. req.) and Legal Business.

A careers page for Flexible Legal Resources seeks to hire lawyers with experience in corporate law, data protection, risk and compliance, derivatives, and financial services regulations.

PwC Legal services director Anne-Marie Botha says the contingent workforce is an attractive option for clients who are coping with an ever-increasing regulatory environment and pressure to deliver more with less, according to the Am Law Daily.

“It allows clients to ramp their legal teams up and down depending on changing business demand, gives them access to a rich talent pool, but still allows them to drive efficiencies in overheads,” Botha said.

PwC recently announced it is opening a new law firm in Washington, D.C., to help U.S. clients on international issues. The firm, called ILC Legal, will operate separately from the accounting firm and won’t offer U.S. legal advice.
