#1 Attorneys Network
The Lawyer has evolved into the biggest digital brand in the legal sector: now we’re giving you more data and context to interpret the news as it affects your business.
So at the end of April we’re changing our approach to print by launching a monthly magazine with a fresh feel. It’s targeted at senior decision-makers in private practice and in-house and will be underpinned by the most in-depth research available to the legal profession.
From our digital analytics, we know what our readers want to read. You’re increasingly interested in global and strategic developments. You want to know more about processes in law firms, from service delivery to work allocation. You want to hear from the thought-leaders in the legal sector. And above all, you want evidence, not anecdote.
The Lawyer has more proprietary intelligence on the legal profession than anyone else. We want space to use it, and we want to allow our readers time to digest it – and that’s easier done in a monthly rather than a weekly format.
In late 2015 we launched The Lawyer’s market intelligence tool that records all deals and client/partner relationships of the biggest firms in the global legal sector. We now have unparalleled and ongoing intelligence on litigation relationships in London and Singapore. We’ve also developed a must-read series of market reports on law firm financials, partner bench strength and law firm business services across 31 jurisdictions.
The Lawyer’s weekly edition will cease in March, and the monthly edition will hit your desks in late April. So what will the new print edition include? We’ll be analysing developments in the context of a rapidly converging global market, using proprietary data from The Global 200, European 100, AsiaPac 100, China 30, the expanded Top 50 US firms in London – and of course the UK200.
There’ll be enhanced coverage of London as a global disputes centre, with a focus on litigation client relationships drawing on The Lawyer’s ground-breaking Court Rankings and Litigation Tracker.
There’ll be a new focus on real estate, powered by our forthcoming research report The Global Real Estate 50.
We’ll be continuing with our market-leading in-house coverage, with a dedicated section covering FTSE legal heads to the disruptive GCs, drawing on our research in the expanded FTSE 350 in-house report.
There’ll be case studies, too: practical content on talent management, process, ethical business, financial management and technology implementation.
And we’ll continue to keep an eye on the boardroom with our acclaimed interviews with C-suite business leaders in our View from the Board strand.
The move from print weekly to monthly won’t, of course, affect our digital development and our audience reach. The Lawyer will retain its independent, outspoken voice as trusted commentator on the legal profession. But our monthly edition will allow a slower, considered read to help our readers navigate the global landscape.
