Robbie Johnston was sentenced to two years imprisonment following a complex investigation carried out by North Herts District Council and Cambridge Council. Mr Johnston ran a commercial criminal operation over a significant period of time to the blight of local beauty spots and at great expense to landowners and local authorities.

Fly-tipping has become a significant problem for many local authorities. Tim Pole, a specialist regulatory barrister at No5 Barristers’ Chambers, advised on the case from the outset and ultimately secured convictions for 13 separate offences. The court also imposed a criminal behaviour order preventing the defendant from operating a waste operation business.
Tim Pole is a member of the Regulatory Group at No5.
