Michael Cohen

President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen says he will testify Tuesday before the Senate Intelligence Committee in its probe of Russian influence in the election.

Cohen says he doesn’t know if the hearing will be public; BuzzFeed News reports it will be closed. CNN and Reuters also have stories.

Cohen had unsuccessfully sought to build a Trump Tower in Moscow. He has said he discussed the possibility of building the tower with Trump three times during the presidential campaign.

In May, Cohen had turned down requests to provide testimony and information, but he said he would testify if he received a subpoena. Cohen previously said he received a subpoena from at least one of the congressional committees investigating Russian influence.

Cohen was executive vice president of the Trump Organization. He resigned before Trump’s inauguration.
